Out of our 11 contenders, Scout Alarm’s home security app ranks 10th. That alone would be more than problematic, but we’re more concered about the lack of positive reviews for for the company and product themselves.
As mentioned previously, businesses thrive or fail on their ability to earn and collect positive customer reviews. Not only does Scout Alarm have just a single review on TrustPilot—1 star—but the positive feedback is lacking elsewhere, too. As an example, Amazon.com had 324 reviews on the date of this review for Scout’s wireless home security system, with an average rating of just 3.3 stars.

Scout Alarm Review, Continued
As with Xfinity Home, it’s strange to find an offering where the company doesn’t seem to actively take steps to encourage reviews. As we’ve stated, there’s no rule that makes Scout Alarm or our other Incomplete-rated contender, Xfinity Home, engage on TrustPilot. But if not there, then where?
On a positive note, the smartphone app scored 4.4 on the App Store, and 4.5 on Google Play.

What’s the significance of the TrustPilot TrustScore? We write more about how and why we use it in our methodology here, but in a nutshell, we can’t find another system for collecting and verifying customer reviews with a system as clear and reliable as TrustPilot’s. In fact, TrustPilot removed over 2.2 million fake reviews from their platform in 2020 alone. They’ve bet their business on quality, authentic reviews.
Scout Alarm Customer Reviews
As with Xfinity Home, finding reliable, standalone customer reviews for Scout Alarm is challenging. Although they claimed their TrustPilot profile over a year ago, there seems to be no effort made to encourage customers, satisfied or not, to engage.
