Ring

At 1.4 stars, Ring has the flat-out worst rating on TrustPilot of any of the contenders, excluding the two “Incompletes” we’ve also reviewed.

Averaging their home security app scores on the App Store and Google Play places that app in a so-so 6th place for Best Home Security App, but even perfect scores couldn’t compensate for how customers feel about the company.

9th Place: Best Home Security System

6th Place: Best Home Security App

Tied 2nd Place: Best Home Security Monitoring

What’s the significance of the TrustPilot TrustScore? We write more about how and why we use it in our methodology here, but in a nutshell, we can’t find another system for collecting and verifying customer reviews with a system as clear and reliable as TrustPilot’s. In fact, TrustPilot removed over 2.2 million fake reviews from their platform in 2020 alone. They’ve bet their business on quality, authentic reviews.

Ring Customer Reviews

3,111 customer reviews is on the lower end in this competition. Because of TrustPilot’s commitment to weeding out fraudulent reviews, we can still look at them with significant confidence.

This is how those reviews are broken down:

5 Star Home Security Review

17.6% 5 Stars

546 out of 3,111 Reviews

4 Star Home Security Review

6.3% 4 Stars

197 out of 3,111 Reviews

3 Star Home Security Review

5% 3 Stars

155 out of 3,111 Reviews

2 Star Home Security Reviews

8% 2 Stars

250 out of 3,111 Reviews

1 Star Home Security Reviews

63.1% 1 Star

1,963 out of 3,111 Reviews

Projecting those reviews forward, a customer could face a greater than 1-in-5 chance of having a 1 or 2 star experience. And as we’ve stated, we cannot recommend a company with fewer than four stars in either the TrustPilot Trust Score or review average. Brinks Home missed the threshold in both.
